The dried stamen of the Saffron Crocus, one of the more rare an costly spices in the world, yields the signature yellow tone and warm tangy aroma. Cardamom, that exotic, spicy fragrance that tingles in your nostrils, says "Christmas" even more than cinnamon to those who have grown up savoring every mouthful of their bun at the family feast once a year.
